After-School Centre Building Project

Join us with your friends and family for this large group project. If you are an expert in building with natural materials or a pro in Cordwood or Cob house construction, volunteer your skills, if you have no skills at all but are passionate about alternative building or if you just want to have fun getting your hands and feet dirty then this trip is for you.

A Youth Community Centre or an After-School Centre offers social, emotional, cognitive and academic development support, it helps reduce risky behaviours, promotes physical health and provides a safe and supportive environment for children and youths to thrive.

Let’s build a youth community center with natural and recycled materials, the first of its kind in the country. This offer comes with free weekend tours in the region.

School Park Bench Project

The COVID 19 pandemic has proven the value of outdoor spaces in supporting high-quality teaching and learning, especially communal spaces for young people. We believe that outdoor learning could provide a big boost to kids and youths learning.

Education that involves nature can boost academic performance in young people. Young people work better in groups when they’re in the great outdoors they have a fuller sense of freedom. Other researches have shown that outdoor learning reduces stress, offers more enjoyment of school, and longer retention of information.

Volunteer with us in Ghana, donate or support us in anyway possible to recycle plastics into park benches for the various schools in the communities where we operate. This project is ideal for group volunteering or high schools. For many this could be a learning experience while at the same time, using this project to teach school kids the importance recycling and climate change.

Library Books Donation

Spread the joy of reading by providing our After-school Center with quality literature, textbooks, and even magazines.

Organise a massive week-long book donation drive in your organization or school with an aim to collect books for our library projects - the best way to support us is by spreading the word around.

Individuals can also help our community to rediscover the joy of reading by organizing a book drive with their friends and family.

Special Programs

Our special programs are focused on sustainable community development. Nurturing talents and leadership among residents and disadvantaged communities so that they can take an active part in decision-making in their own communities. These special projects are also collaborations with communities to allow people to improve their own lives and the collective economic, social, and environmental welfare of the community as a whole.

After-School Activities Coordinator - Volunteer

An after-school activities coordinator will be in charge of coordinating and supervising after-school learning and recreational activities designed for youths and children to enhance their potential and skills.

Under the direction of the program director, the coordinator will essentially have to empower the students/youths and create strategies to keep a productive and healthy environment for them.

The coordinator will be directly responsible for planning and organizing all daily activities of the center. In addition, is responsible for planning (including rosters, activities, lessons etc) and implementation.

Ideally, candidates applying for this internship or volunteer role must be older than 18 years, and must at least have a High School Diploma or higher. Must have previous experience working with elementary school-aged kids or teens. Must be in good physical condition. Possess basic knowledge and understanding of school-aged children.

Youth In Apprenticeship

The Youth in Apprenticeship Festival is an initiative of the Gbi-Wegbe Youth, tailored to provide the requisite skills needed by the youth, especially young women for job creation and livelihood. The festival seeks to address the increasing socio-economic gap created by the difficulty in accessing and furthering a formal education.

The Annual Skills Contest is designed to make apprenticeship attractive to the youth and to encourage those who are already enrolled in a vocation to complete their term of training. We seek to recognize & award apprentices with cash prizes to aid them to meet some training demands.

The Apprenticeship Sponsorship Program is targeted at the youth who are willing to learn a vocation but do not have the needed support or means. The program partners with churches within the communities in making this possible. The partnership role of the church is to identify prospective beneficiaries within their churches to support them with the tools and equipment needed for the training.
