Volunteer Opportunities in Ghana!
We are a locally-empowered approach to volunteerism, we give global change-makers the opportunity to make real impact in rural Ghanaian communities through a range of inclusive & innovative development programs and recreational activities.
TEACHING AT THE VILLAGE ON WATER
Imagine kayaking or riding a canoe to school every day!
Paddle through the great Amansuri marsh, an ecosystem of swamps, mangroves, floodplains & green coastline.
This is the situation of the village on water in Ghana as the number of paid government teachers has declined severely, leaving the school with only 3 teachers, it is our responsibility to send teaching volunteers to this village to support the few local teachers in educating the kids and youths.
Teach English, Science, Maths & Physical Education sessions at the village’s primary and kindergarten school. This program is run year-round so you are free to apply anytime
AFTER-SCHOOL CODING CLASSES
Give opportunity to students & youths in rural communities
to widen their scope for better career prospects.
Introducing complex skills such as computer coding, to students whilst they are young, they’ll consume it quickly, utilize it flexibly and continue to foster it for decades to come.
Volunteer your skills in Ghana, and train teachers that will, in turn, train their peers and students. This model provides a sound, scalable structure for inter-group knowledge sharing, unlocking people’s potential and desire to serve as resources for each other.
AFTER-SCHOOL FILMMAKING WORKSHOP
Filmmaker & Photographer volunteers work at our after-school center teaching teenagers how to tell their stories that other cultures don't see, understand or believe often enough.
Develop special film and photo projects for advocacy purposes. This opportunity allows filmmakers, photographers, and students of film and photography, an opportunity to participate and learn about development issues while making a significant impact.
Global change-makers with unique abilities to transform written stories and ideas into the visual presentation; such as movies, documentaries, animations, and campaigns should apply to teach on a daily basis for students to create their own multimedia projects, develop team-building and leadership skills, and learn how to use technology to share their stories.
VOLUNTEER AS A SPORTS COACH
Use your sports skills for good during a Sports Coaching volunteer project. If you share our passion for sports, join one of our sports volunteering opportunities and enjoy a rewarding travel experience while offering valuable physical exercise to kids that need it.
The emphasis is not on developing Ghana’s next international sports star but on getting alongside children from less advantaged backgrounds and building friendships over common ground, leading them to play competitive local tournaments.
Volunteers are needed to help local coaches to train and empower teenagers in football, volleyball, table tennis, and athletics.
VOLUNTEER TO TEACH
In the Volta Region, where we’re based, some children don't have much chance of completing Junior High School. In most of our selected rural communities, half of all school-aged children have not been able to graduate junior high, let alone enter into high school.
Government-provided infrastructure is severely limited, the number of paid teachers has declined, and teacher training is now almost non-existent. Some schools are thriving but need support with resources, computer lab, Science lab/apparatus, library, washrooms, or renovation of dilapidated buildings.
Accepting volunteers from abroad to teach for a minimum duration of six weeks to one year is in order to build the capacity of national staff members, local schools, and rural communities. Teach English, Science, Maths, Creative Arts, and ICT sessions at local High Schools, Primary, Kindergarten, and Junior High in disadvantaged community schools. Implement an English & Science Club at high schools for students.
VOLUNTEER AS A PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICER
Volunteer in Public Health programs in rural
communities in Ghana.
Help communities connect to the care they deserve, whether you're a public health worker, a nurse,
pre-med student or just passionate about community service; we provide you the ideal chance to improve your specialized medical knowledge while obtaining international volunteering practice in clinics and various villages we work with which don't have secure entrance to advanced medical care.
Our community health programs address disparities by ensuring equitable access to health resources in Sexual Health, Family Planning, Birth Control and Eye Care. These disparities include living in isolated rural areas with limited healthcare providers or being unable to afford health insurance.
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to use their voice to empower and take leaps in creating change.
